Here are some recent tech tips for working on Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Systems:

2009 Chrysler Sebring 4 door Hardtop
situation; spare key, Y164 key blank, Can 2 vehicle.
Programming issue- pin code entered, engine chimes heard but after disconnecting the tester the vehicle would not start and the security light blinked. *Important Note- If you hear the engine chimes at the end of the programming sequence on a Can vehicle you more than likely have a programmed key & it's just not starting for another reason.
Solution; went to live data and checked TP keys =2, checked val.sk keys= yes. This verified we had a programmed key. The next step was to preform a hard reset. Disconnected positive battery terminal & touched it to ground. Hooked the battery terminal back up. Vehicle started and security light went out.
2009 Dodge Caravan
Situation- Lost Prox, Fobik Can system. Selected Fobik A, dongle G.
Programming issue; Received a seed key error message after selecting Fobik A. *Note- if you receive a seed key error or 2704 failure message on a Fobik Can vehicle it usually means it's the wrong protocol. Some of the Fobik Can vehicles can program under Fobik org., Fobik A or Fobik B depending on the year & the model. Please refer to our online apps guide for the correct system choice.
Solution; turned the tester off. Cycled the prox from off to on in order to reset the system. Turned the tester back on. Selected Fobik B this time and the prox programmed in.
2011 PROX (RFH) PUSH TO START PROXIMITY MODELS
2011 Chrysler 300, 2011 Dodge Charger, 2011 Dodge Journey
CAUTION: DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE PUSH BUTTON FROM RFH MODELS!
RF HUB PUSHBUTTON
THE BUTTON (SHOWN ABOVE) IS NOT REMOVABLE AND WILL ONLY BE DAMAGED IF YOU TRY.
Presently the only way to obtain the PIN CODE for these vehicles is thru a dealer source or from NASTF.org
THE SYSTEM WILL LOCK OUT ANY PROGRAMMING AFTER 3 INCORRECT PIN CODE ENTRIES.
If 3 consecutive incorrect PIN's are entered, the RF Hub (RFH) will Lock Out and place the immobilizer in LOCK MODE.
While the immobilizer is in LOCK MODE even the correct pin code will NOT be accepted by the cars computer.
If you try and program keys in while the immobilizer is in LOCK MODE
The PRO will display "INCORRECT ACCESS CODE"
To exit Lock Mode, the ignition must remain in the Off position for 25 minutes.
All accessories must be off.
A battery charger, booster cables or a jump box connected to the battery during this time period is recommended.
After the 25 minutes RETRY programming again this time making sure to enter the correct pin code.

SHIP MODE
If the vehicle comes in indicating it is in a shipping mode (message appears in the cluster) use the scan tool to access the BCM misc functions to disable from shipping mode. Vehicle shipping mode also can be turned off when depressing the front defrost and list/enter button at the same time for 5 seconds. Be aware on some early build vehicles the manual update process may not work and the tool disable function must be used. Taking the vehicle out of shipping mode is completing the standard IOD prep process, thus eliminating the need for an IOD fuse.
