Having trouble with your Advanced Diagnostics programmer?

Q: I plugged my programmer into a car's OBD2 port and it would not power up. Do I need repairs?

A: You may, but the problem may also be the car's OBD2 port. Plug your programmer into a couple of different cars to test it, and plug it into a wall outlet using your Update Cable. If it still will not power up, send it to us at tech support with a repair form (see below).
Here are some frequently asked questions:
Q: When I plug in my programmer, a large "X"  or a padlock and a code # appers on my screen:

A: The software on your unit has been most likely been erased. This will occur when the passcode is entered into the unit incorrectly more than 3 times in a row. This can be fixed by simply updating your unit on the Internet or by contacting us with your Pro serial number and unlock code.

*Pro units that are running OLD software (not updated) that have been erased may have to be sent to us for recompiling. This process can take a few days and a fee is charged. (see repair form)

Recent software version allow tech support to reset your Pro without sending it in, just call tech support with the lockout code on the screen and we'll provide you with the necessary "unlocking" code. This may take 24hrs-48hrs depending on time/day of week etc.

Here are some frequently asked questions:
Q: When I plug in my programmer, this error message appears on the screen: "Undefined Interrupt-Vector 44-Mask 7". What does this message mean?

A: This can occur if your software has been partially erased due to the same reason above. To fix this problem you must update your software on the Internet. Your first step, after connecting the unit to your computer, is to finish erasing your software by entering an incorrect pass code 3 or 4 times in a row. After doing this, a large "X" will appear on the screen and you can proceed with the update mentioned above.

Update Pro units often
Q: How often should I update the software on my programmer and how much does it cost?

A: You can update the software you already have to a newer version anytime you want...for free! Updating once every one to two months will keep your software current. To add new programs on Tcode that you did not have before, please contact your local distributor as the first step is purchasing them.

Having Trouble Updating Classic Unit?
Q: If I am having problems updating my software, what troubleshooting steps can I take?

A:
Make certain you are using the most current Loader on your PC. Uninstall any old loader programs and install the newest version available on this site.

if you are receiving an error message similar to "TCode/MVP Not Connected", check to make
sure you have entered your pass code into the programmer and it is on the vehicle selection screen.
Secondly,
if the download will not start it may be blocked by your virus protection or firewall software.
Temporarily disabling these should fix the problem.

Finally, if you do not have a serial port on your computer, try using a Serial/USB adaptor from
Radio Shack (Part #26-183). We have found this part to work on most computers.
